Do know, all the instructions in the box are in Chinese. I'm only using it to brew the tea and heating the water in an electric kettle, but am not docking them because I found all the info in the Amazon description and questions.

• My relatives have an equivalent Zojirushi model. The only difference is this one only has a 6 hour delay whereas the Zojirushi has a longer delay setting. It actually seems like the Panasonic insulates and holds the heat in better than the Zojirushi as it doesn't seem to reheat as often. I'm sure it would save a few pennies in power costs if I could delay it a little longer while I'm away at work all day but it isn't worth almost double the price to get that. That's the only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5. I actually like and prefer the nonstick interior and unless you've got hard water, you don't have to clean it as often as they suggest. It's over a month for mine being used every day and it doesn't look any different than when I bought it. I figure I'll clean it with lemon juice every other month.

Despite being mostly plastic, this is a very well designed unit. It looks and feels well built and high quality. The removable reservoir has a nice folding handle and clicks in and out of its cradle smoothly, requiring only one hand, and never leaks a drop. The filter basket door clicks into the fully open position and stays there till you close it. The power button has nice positive click and a red LED. The one small issue I found is that the valve on the filter basket that allows you to remove the carafe while brewing drips once or twice after it closes. The coffee is not as good as that made in a French press (is that even possible?), but it's as good as any drip coffee maker I've had and better than most. I bought this after returning a Bonavita that leaked all over my counter right out of the box and am very happy with it.

My daughter gave me one of these last April, I use it every day, don't find glass tea pot fragile, I've bumped it several times, love it, use it daily, if not for tea, then just to boil water for my coffee press. I'm ordering one now for a gift.
